HashPack Token Inbox: Your Gateway to Frictionless Airdrops

Article by

HashPack

The Token Inbox is an exciting new feature that makes receiving airdrops on Hedera easier than ever. This guide will help you understand what it is, how to use it, and how to stay safe while participating in airdrops.

What is the Token Inbox?

The Token Inbox is your personal hub for managing incoming token and NFT airdrops. You can easily view, accept, or reject any tokens sent to your wallet, all in one convenient location. To access your Token Inbox, simply click the mail icon in the top right corner of your HashPack wallet. When you have airdrops waiting, a numbered notification will show up to let you know.

How to use the Token Inbox

Viewing Airdrops
When someone sends you tokens or NFTs through an airdrop, they'll appear in your Token Inbox. Each entry shows:

  • The token name and ID
  • The amount (for fungible tokens) or serial number (for NFTs)
  • Options to approve or deny the airdrop

Managing airdrops

For each airdrop, you have two options:

1) Approve: Accept the tokens into your wallet
Approving the airdrop costs a small network fee of 0.00331 HBAR. Approved tokens will appear in your Assets or NFT tab. Future airdrops of the same token will automatically appear in your wallet.

2) Deny: Reject the token
Rejecting the airdrop is free of charge. The tokens will be returned to the treasury, and you won't see these specific tokens again.

Note: HashPack doesn't charge any additional fees beyond the standard Hedera network fees.

Staying safe with airdrops

While airdrops are a popular way for projects to engage with the Hedera community, it's important to stay vigilant.

Verify Token IDs
Token names and icons can be duplicated. Always verify the token ID against official project information

Be Link-Aware
Never click on suspicious links associated with airdrops

Community First
When in doubt, ask the Hedera community about unfamiliar airdrops

Remember
HashPack cannot control who sends tokens to your wallet – this happens at the network level
