Introducing Unlimited Auto Association!
We've just updated the auto association feature in HashPack, making it easier than ever to receive tokens on Hedera.
Hedera's association feature is fantastic for blocking spam tokens and reducing risk. But it also meant you had to manually associate every new token to receive it, which could lead to missed opportunities.
With Unlimited Auto Association, you can now receive tokens without the extra steps. This brings Hedera in line with other networks, enhancing your experience while keeping you in control.
On Hedera, tokens must first be "associated" before they can be received by your account. Unlimited Auto Association is a handy feature, which allows your wallet to receive tokens without the need to manually associate them. This is ideal for users who wish to receive airdrops, such as our recent giveaway with Karate Combat.
Better still, with Unlimited Auto Association, the sender has to pay the Association fee. Meaning you can receive airdrops without an active HBAR balance.
There are two ways to set Unlimited Auto Association: during the account creation or import process, or in the Accounts section in the HashPack menu.
When creating or importing an account on HashPack, the final stage will present a number of options. You can give your wallet a nickname, set the local currency, and enable Unlimited Auto Association.
Don't worry, you can always change these settings later, after you've created your wallet.
If you have already a HashPack account, simply open the Main Menu, press the Accounts section, select your account from the list, and check Unlimited Auto Association.
You can set the number of open auto association slots to limit unwanted tokens. It's all about giving you flexibility and peace of mind.
For example, if you set Auto Associate slots to 10, then you can receive 10 tokens to your account without having to manually associate them.
Remember, this feature is entirely optional and disabled by default. We always prioritise your security, so please use it thoughtfully.
